Welcome to Forever Doodles

Forever Doodles is a family-run breeding programme in Central Scotland, dedicated to the ongoing development of the Australian Labradoodle and Bernedoodle breeds. We produce happy, healthy, well-rounded puppies that make their forever homes with families and other breeders around the world. We carefully consider temperament, health and conformation in every breeding decision; all of our dogs are extensively health screened before breeding and have the most wonderful, loving temperaments.

Hello!

We are Alastair and Amy McKinney, the husband and wife team behind Forever Doodles.

Alastair has been involved in breeding Australian Labradoodles since 2006 when his family started Lomond Hills Labradoodles, which he led for many years before starting Forever Doodles with his wife, Amy.

At Forever Doodles, we are dedicated professionals, passionate about responsible and ethical breeding practices. Our breeding dogs are all much-loved family members, living in our home or with one of our lovely guardian families. We have a strict health screening policy so that puppies are only produced from genetically sound parents. Our puppies have the very best start in life and are raised to the highest of standards in our fantastic facilities, with an abundance of love and attention. We put our hearts and souls into raising puppies that will be forever part of the family.

Our Guardian Programme

No kennel dogs here...

The Forever Doodles Guardian Programme means that all of our beloved Australian Labradoodle and Bernedoodle breeding dogs live forever in a loving family home. So that all of our breeding dogs get the best one-to-one care and attention, those that we do not have space for in our own home live with select, local families in their homes as a permanent member of the family. These dogs return to Forever Doodles for short spells and when they are having puppies. Once retired from breeding, they continue living with their guardian family, forever.

Our Breeds

Australian Labradoodle

Australian Labradoodles were originally bred to be service and therapy dogs for asthma and allergy sufferers in Australia in the late 1990s. Their outstanding temperaments and non-shedding coats make them a popular choice with families around the world. They are bred in three different sizes: miniature, medium and standard, and have a wide range of coat colours. They are known for being intelligent, trainable, happy-go-lucky, comical, gentle and excellent with children. The Australian Labradoodle has 6 parent breeds in its genetic make up: Labrador, Poodle, English Cocker Spaniel, American Cocker Spaniel, Curly Coat Retriever and Irish Water Spaniel.

Bernedoodle

Bernedoodles were first bred in Canada to be excellent companion dogs in the early 2000s. They are popular family companions in North America and relatively new to European shores. They result from crossing the Bernese Mountain Dogs with the Poodle. They are bred in a variety of solid and multi-combination colours, but are particularly known for the beautiful and much sought after black tricolour of the Bernese Mountain Dog. Bernedoodles are bred in three sizes: miniature, medium and standard. They are known for being smart, trainable, funny and affectionate. Sometimes, the Australian Labradoodle is used or infused instead of the Poodle and the resulting offspring are known as Australian Bernedoodles.
